Bergen
Ridgewood Education Association
Upon completion of graduate course work with a grade of B or better, the Board will fully reimburse all professional employees covered by this Agreement for tuition and fees up to $1,500 for 2005-2006; $1,750 for 2006-07, and $2,000 for 2007-08 for courses approved by the Superintendent, including coursework for National Teacher Certification, prior to course registration subject to a maximum total payment of $150,000. However, if the total maximum payment in 2006-07 exceeds $140,000, the Board agrees to meet with the Association to negotiate an increase for 2007-08.
Teachers who have achieved National Teacher Certification shall be fully reimbursed for all tuition costs associated with obtaining the certification.
The Wyckoff Education Association
National Certification-
Effective July 1, 2006 those individuals whose certification and/or teaching assignments are eligible to be candidates, complete all requirements, and receive certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards shall be reimbursed up to $2,500 of the cost incurred in obtaining national certification. Applicant must receive national certification status to be eligible for reimbursement.
Burlington
Lenape District Education Association
Advancement allowance for National Board Certification shall be equal to 9 graduate credits.
Northern Burlington County Regional Teachers' Association
1. Upon completion of the National Board Certification Program and receipt of the certification, the Board of Education will reimburse the five hundred seventy-five dollar ($575) registration fee and pay the teacher a one thousand five hundred dollar ($1,500) bonus.
2. Each year, on September 15th, if the teacher is still employed in the district, he/she will receive a one thousand dollar ($1,000) bonus as long as he/she maintains a valid certificate.
Hunterdon
Clinton Township Education Association
Teachers will be afforded an opportunity to participate in the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Program. Upon successful completion of the program and receipt of certification the $2,000 assessment fee will be reimbursed and 9 credits will be granted on the salary guide.
Flemington-Raritan Education Association
1. The Board of Education will establish a fund equal to the cost of securing National Teacher Board Certification for a maximum of 10 teachers annually - 2 per school or 10 per district in any given school year (1999 = $20,000. or $2,000. each). Volunteer participation will be subject to the recommendation of the principal and superintendent. Reimbursement will be contingent upon the attainment of certification in the approved area.
2. During the school year in which a teacher develops his/her portfolio and completes the assessment, the Board of Education will use the "waiver and equivalency" process to exempt the teacher from the state-mandated evaluation process and all that it entails at the local level - planbook review, formal classroom observations, professional growth plan, indicators of pupil progress and annual evaluation. It must be understood that the New Jersey Department of Education is under no obligation to grant the Board a waiver.
3. Teachers who accept reimbursement for National Teacher Board Certification agree to remain in the district for 2 full school years (September -- June) following the attainment of certification. These two years need not be consecutive. A teacher who leaves the district prior to or during the first school year must repay the district the complete $2,000 fee. Leaving the district prior to or during the second year of obligation requires repayment of $1,000.
4. Teachers who earn National Teacher Board Certification will be entitled to an annual salary adjustment of $1,000. Beginning the school year following attainment of certification.
5. For negotiations purposes, salary adjustments resulting from participation in National Teacher Board certification will not be included in the development of future scattergrams.
Readington Education Association
National Board Certification -Teaching staff who apply and are accepted into the National Board Certification Program will be reimbursed by the Readington Township Board of Education for all accredited course work that is not covered by an outside grant. There shall exist in each year of this contract a cap of Eight Thousand Dollars ($8,000) (or Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000) per teacher accepted in this program) eligible to be applied toward reimbursement for course work related to this certification program. Upon completion of this program, the teacher will agree to work in the Readington Township School District for at least two (2) years. They will be elevated on the salary guide appropriately for the number of additional graduate level credits they have obtained. In the event a teacher resigns from a position during the first or second school year following the year in which the Board reimbursed the teacher for such course work, the teacher will repay the Board the amount reimbursed in full within thirty (30) days of resignation. If the Board is forced to resort to legal action to recover repayment, the teacher shall be required to reimburse the Board for its attorneys’ fees incurred in prosecuting the action.
South Hunterdon Regional High School
National Teacher Certification -
Teachers shall be paid a one-time stipend of $500 if and when they attain the National Teacher Certification.
Mercer
Trenton Education Association
Persons that attain National Teacher Certification shall receive an additional $2,500 which shall be reflected in their maximum.
Middlesex
Milltown Education Association
Teachers successfully completing the National Board Certification shall receive an additional $1,000 per year added to their salary. This money shall be counted as salary and pensionable.
Perth Amboy, United Schools Employee Association

The Board agrees to reimburse the tuition but not the application fee, for those staff members who successfully attain National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification. The Board agrees to provide a stipend of $3,000 per school year or a pro-ration thereof, for those staff members who successfully attain National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification and for whom such certification is in full force and effect.
06-07
The Board agrees to reimburse the tuition but not the application fee, for those staff members who successfully attain National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification. The Board agrees to provide a stipend of $3,500.
07-08
The Board agrees to reimburse the tuition but not the application fee, for those staff members who successfully attain National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification. The Board agrees to provide a stipend of $4,000.
South Brunswick Education Association
Teachers who complete the process for National Board for Professional Teaching
Standard Certificate shall receive $2,000 reimbursement for fees.
An employee holding a NBPTSC shall receive an annual stipend of $750 as long as the certification is current (must recertify per rules to maintain stipend). If the State makes an equal or greater payment for the NBPTSC, the District payment will not be made. If the State makes a payment less than $750 annually, the District will make up the difference to $750.

The Stafford Township Board of Education believes learning to be a life long endeavor and as such encourages its staff to pursue quality professional development avenues. Therefore the following graduate credit guide has bean established in order to encourage staff in this pursuit.

Somerset
Bedminster Education Association
Any teacher who has earned National Board Certification, while in the employ of the Bedminster Board of Education, shall receive $1,500 annually, added to their salary base. The teacher who earns their National Board Certification will submit proof of certification to the Superintendent prior to December 15th of the school year to receive prorated payment beginning the following February 1, or prior to May 15 to receive prorated payment beginning the following September 1. Any teacher new to the district with a National Board Certification will receive a prorated adjustment to the salary, commencing on February 1 or September 1, whichever comes 1st, following their employment by the Bedminster Board of Education.
Franklin Township Education Association
National Certification -
The Board and the Association agree that national teacher certification can be an effective method for improving the skills of our teaching staff and enhancing the profile of our staff within the community. In order to encourage teachers to obtain national certification, the Board will, without additional negotiations, establish procedures and amounts for the reimbursement of tuition and/or costs associated with the acquisition of national certification. In addition, each teacher who obtains national certification will be given a onetime $2,500 salary enhancement in the year the award is earned. Each year afterward that the national certification remains valid, the teacher shall receive $1,000 in salary added to his/her guide.

Any teacher who obtains National Board Certification shall receive an annual stipend of $3,000 effective with the contract year subsequent to their obtaining the certification.
